Information Officer - Procedure Office

About the role

The Procedure Office provides support to the Chamber and senior officers within the Department and is responsible for answering inquiries from the Department's customers. Your key responsibilities will be providing high level customer service to internal and external customers, contributing to public information made available through the Parliament of Victoria website and printed materials, and processing questions and answers to questions. You will also archive original papers tabled in the Legislative Assembly, arrange transfer of documents to the Public Record Office as required, as well as process requests for access to archived documents.

The Information Officer works extended hours on a rostered basis on sitting days. This includes starting at 8.00 am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and working until approximately 8.00 pm on some Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Sitting hours can sometimes be unpredictable and on occasions you may be required to work longer.

About you

To succeed in the role, you will have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, enjoy working in a small team, and be able to organise and prioritise work and show initiative. You will have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to produce documents with a high degree of accuracy within tight deadlines. Your analytical, research and writing skills will be a strength.
